How to get updates: Here’s an article on how to get free app updates on NOOK and Kindle Fire.

Problem Resolved on March 28, 2013: Santa Cruz Flowers + Bible Moving Wallpaper
On March 18 we learned that something changed in the NOOK Shop (without our involvement) and Barnes & Noble began selling Santa Cruz Flowers + Bible for NOOK HD & NOOK HD+.  Version 1.6 was not compatible with NOOK HD or NOOK HD+ and crashes.  Version 1.7 fixes this and is available now as a free update.  If you need a little help with loading updates, we’ve got you covered with our guide to updates on NOOK and Kindle Fire.

Have been using the faith checkbook app on my nook color. Tried to “share” and now when I tap the app, i only see my email and can’t get back to the readings.

    • Steve @ Looking Upward Apps says:

      Hi, Debbie!

Let’s get this fixed for you. First, a couple of questions:

      1) Had you already set up email on your NOOK Color? If not, there’s a problem where the NOOK tries to get you to set up email and you can’t get out until you do it.

      2) If you go back to the apps screen will the app restart for you?

      3) Did you know about the “back” button? At the bottom of the screen in a thin black bar is a little curved arrow in a circle. That’s the back button. You should be able to tap the back button to get back to the app if something has gone wrong with the email app.

Let me know what happens so we can figure out the next step if needed.

      Take care,

      Steve @ WhitneyApps

I purchased Hubble outerspace/Bible wallpaper–from B.N. for my Tablet–It said not supported by my Nook–It then disappeared from my Nook altogether

  3. Robert Everett says:

I cannot open to the program–I did find the program again it just shows the information but not the start up page. I have the Nook tablet 1.4.1

    • Steve @ Looking Upward Apps says:

      Hi, Robert!

Sorry you’re having trouble. The app is definitely compatible with the NOOK Tablet, but something seems to have gone wrong. I recommend finding it in the “apps” list, doing a “long press” on the app icon (press your finger on it and hold until a menu of options comes up) then tap “archive.” That will uninstall the app from your NOOK Tablet. Then you can go to the archived apps page and tap it to install it again. I expect that will get it working for you, but please let me know either way. You can email me at support@LookingUpwardApps.com if you have trouble and we’ll get this working for you.

      Blessings,

      Steve @ LookingUpwardApps

  4. Randy says:

How do I get the setting back to the custom one for posting to facebook from the original? I hit original by mistake and I can’t get it back to how it was.

    • Steve @ Looking Upward Apps says:

      Randy-

I don’t have the app in front of me right now since I’m typing from my phone, but the way to turn the custom Facebook sharing screen back on is to press/tap the menu button (how you do this depends on the device). Then tap “settings” then uncheck “Use standard Facebook sharing” (this wording may not be right, but it’s similar). Hopefully things will be back to the way they were after that checkbox is unchecked.

Let me know if it doesn’t work for you.

      Take care,
Steve @ WhitneyApps / Looking Upward Apps

  5. Shannon says:

I’m having the exact same problem as Debbie however, there’s no “back” button at the bottom of the screen. I have tried deleting and archiving the app. Each time I re-install Faith’s Checkbook and open it, it goes straight back to my e-mail. Is there a way to completely wipe the settings for Faith’s Checkbook without deleting everything off my Nook Tablet? Or, at the very least, is there an update I can download for the app that includes the “back” button when you attempt to share something?

    • Steve @ Looking Upward Apps says:

      Hi, Shannon,

I’m sorry this is happening to you. There’s a known bug in the Nook software that traps you in the emil app if you try to share by email before you have set up the built-in email app. I recommend shutting the Nook down entirely by holding the power button until it asks you if you want to shut it down (I don’t have my Nook in front of me to get the exact wording). Once iit has done the full shutdown, you can restart it by holding the power button. It should now have forgottne that it was stuck in the email app. I recommend setting up the email app by running it directly from the apps screen. (It will want information to hook it into your email account). Then sharing from Faith’s Checkbook should be safe again.

Sorry for the inconvenience. They kept saying it would be fixed, but it hasn’t been yet. 🙁

No reset of the Nook should be necessary to unstick it if this is the problem. If this doesn’t work, please let me know so I can see what can be done through the app in a new version.

      Take care,
Steve @ WhitneyApps / Looking Upward Apps

On your Faith checkbook devo for Jan. 27 Ezek. 20:43 uses the word hate instead of have. Thank you guys for such an inspirational app. I love it.

    • Steve @ Looking Upward Apps says:

Thanks, Gary! I’ve added it to the typo list for the next version. Thank you for the kind words about the app!

      Blessings,

  8. laura says:

Hi I purchased the bible verse live app for my nook and m needing to see if the verse can be moved to the bottom of the page

    • Steve @ Looking Upward Apps says:

      Hi Laura,

      Thanks for posting!

Are you writing about one of our moving wallpaper apps with Bible verses. If so, the position of the Bible verse is not movable at this time. We can add that to our list. It would be helpful to know why you want to move the Bible verse location so we can describe the request correctly on the list.

      Blessings,

      Steve @ Looking Upward Apps

  9. lee says:

I downloaded the santa cruz flowers and bible verse app from barnes and noble. It has not worked since day one. The repeat error message says unfortunatly it has stopped working. Any ideas?

    • Steve @ Looking Upward Apps says:

      Hi Lee,

I’m sorry to hear that. Obviously, that shouldn’t be happening. Since I haven’t heard about this problem from others, I’m guessing it’s an installation problem. I recommend that you “archive” the application (which uninstalls it) and install it again. Hopefully it will be installed correctly the second time.

If you’d like assistance with that, please let me know what model of device you’re using (e.g., NOOK Color, NOOK Tablet, NOOK HD, NOOK HD+). I’ll be happy to help you get it working.

      Blessings,

Steve @ WhitneyApps / Looking Upward Apps

      • lee says:

Steve, I am using a Nook HD +. I moved the app to Nook Cloud and re installed . I am still getting the same error message.

        • Steve @ Looking Upward Apps says:

Lee, I see the problem. That app wasn’t yet ported to the NOOK HD+. I didn’t mark it as NOOK HD+ compatible in the control panel, but somehow that box is checked. So you may not be the only person with a problem. I’m going to fix this and upload a new version, but the process takes some time so it’ll probably take a couple of weeks.

Substantial changes were necessary to port the non-Bible version of Santa Cruz Flowers to NOOK HD+, but I’ve done the work once so it’ll be quicker this time!

          Sorry for the delay.

          Grace and Peace,

          Steve

  10. Donna Owens says:

I csnnot get my app to open an be my wallpaper after I purchased it. It says santa cruz flowers bible and has stopped working.

    • Steve @ Looking Upward Apps says:

      Hi Donna,

Are you using a NOOK HD or HD+? Something changed in Barnes & Noble’s NOOK application developer control panel and that app which hadn’t been prepared fro the HD devices started being sold on them. I have begun to make the changed and should have a corrected version within two weeks. I apologize for the inconvenience. I’ll create a customer support ticket for you so you can receive updates on the situation.

Thanks for letting me know. We’ll get this fixed.

      Blessings,

Steve @ WhitneyApps / Looking Upward Apps

    • Steve @ Looking Upward Apps says:
